"Water (lower left). Beach (lower right) with fort at far end of beach (center). All surrounded by cliffs. The water is San Francisco's Golden Gate (looking in from the west) with China Beach on the right (San Francisco) and Marin County hills on left. The fort is at Fort Point (San Francisco end of today's Golden Gate Bridge). And island beyond is Angel Island, inside San Francisco Bay."
