Gift of the Southern Colorado Wood Artists, inspired by their American Indian ancestry. The log was donated by Tom Cowper and the pole was carved at the Center where the artists held their meetings. The plaque was added in 1994 by the Center to commemorate the pole's tenth anniversary. IAS files include a related article from the Cottonwood, the Center's newsletter, Sept. 1994.
