Passionate poet and newspaperman lived on a farm at/this site in the years preceding his death. Noted for his caustic verse, he was anti-loyalist,/and later anti-federalist, in his sentiment. Called the "Poet of the American Revolution",/he was an associate of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin signed
