Description:
Monument dedicated to the founding pioneer settlers of Mesa in 1877-1880. Full length portraits of the four leaders of the Mesa Company and a mother and child representing the pioneer families stand in a group facing the four directions on a truncated oval base. The portraits are of: P. R. Crismon holding barrel of rifle with proper right hand, rifle butt end on ground; Charles Robson holding shovel in front of him with both hands; Francis Pomeroy holding walking stick in proper right hand; George Sirrene kneels pointing to map held in his proper right hand; mother sitting wearing bonnet with standing child leaning on her knees. Sculpture set in landscaped plaza surrounded by brick-capped wall.
