Remarks:
When a model for this memorial was presented in October 1928, the violent nature of the sculpture elicited a few objections, but work on the sculpture proceeded nevertheless. IAS files contain an excerpt from Flavia Alaya's "Gaetano Federici: 1880-1964 The Artist As Historian," Paterson, NJ: Passaic County Historical Society, 1980, no. 117.
