Trygve, a gnome with cap and white beard, holds a rock and stands next to a rock-filled wheelbarrow. Grandpa troll stands by a pointed rock. Ole (a gnome) draws water from a well. Odin (a troll) plays golf. Thornrosa (a lady troll) makes lefse on a stump. Johan a blacksmith gnome works with a hammer and anvil on a stump. Gnomes Hans and Tina sit holding hands. Remarks:
The trolls, gnomes and the two-acre park are creations of Arne and Dorie Pederson. In the winter the local residents put hats, scarfs, gloves and booties on the trolls and gnomes. Residents also leave notes for them, and there is a bandage on one of Johan the blacksmith's fingers where he "nicked" it. IAS files contain related articles from "Simple Pleasures," June 1995 and Aug. 1995.
