Commissioned by the City of Eugene and funded through a $900 grant through the Lane Regional Arts Council. It was displayed as half of a larger piece at the Hult Center in Eugene prior to installation in the park. Though commissioned by the City, the work is owned by the artist who installed it in Monroe Park on a six month trial basis. The site was selected by the Eugene Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department in cooperation with the Westside Quality Project Neighborhood Group and the Friends of Monroe Park. A six-month evaluation raised aesthetic and safety concerns within the neighborhood because kids were climbing on the sculpture.
