    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a color-sergeant in Civil War uniform. He wears a cap, overcoat and boots. In his proper right hand, which is raised high, he holds a raised sword. In his proper left hand he holds a furled flag. The base of the flagstaff rests on the ground beside his proper right foot. The flagstaff, which rises high above the soldier's head, is topped with an eagle. The bronze sculpture stands atop a pink-gray marble pedestal and stepped base. The corners of the pedestal have decorative eagles and other relief carvings.
