    (Front of base, raised lettering:) 1861 VIRGINIA 1865/(Virginia state seal)/PRINCESS ANNE COUNTY/CONFEDERATE/HEROES (One side of base:) "YOUR ARMS ARE STACKED,/YOUR SPLENDID COLORS FURLED,/YOUR DRUMS ARE STILL,/ASIDE YOUR TRUMPETS LAID." (Other side of base:) ERECTED 1905
    Description: 
    A uniformed Confederate private stands, grasping his rifle with both hands at chest level, the muzzle pointed up. He has a moustache and goatee and wears baggy breeches and a wide-brimmed hat. A rolled blanket is over his proper left shoulder, secured at the proper right hip. On his belt buckle are the initials "EA." The soldier is mounted upon a multitiered base with a midsection with polished panels and corner columns, a depiction of crossed flags on the rear panel. The bottom tiers of the base are graduated and rough-edged.
