Remarks:
The monument honors those from Williamsport who served during the Civil War. Funds for the monument were raised through public subscription. The monument is installed in front of what was at one time Williamsport's City Hall. IAS files contain newspaper articles from Williamsport Daily Gazette and Bulletin, May 14, 1890, pg. 5; and Sept. 20, 1894.
