Another sculpture of a loon by the artist first appeared on Silver Lake in Virginia, Minnesota, in 1979. After it was damaged, it was replaced by the artist in 1982. The Land of the Loon Festival held in June centers around the loon. The SOS! surveyor was unable to determine the condition of the loon due to its location.
