    THIS ANCIENT GARDEN IN A NEW FASHIONING IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN WOLRD CONFLICT FOR THE SECURITY OF THEIR COUNTRY AND THE CAUSE OF PEACE
    Description: 
    A slender marble stele, adapted from a Greek funerary slab, adorned with a relief carving of the American Institute of Architects insignia depicting an American eagle with wings spread in front of a Doric column topped by a star. Below the insignia is a relief depicting two full length figures. Columbia, on the right, wears a Phrygian bonnet, the adaptation of the Greek warrior's helmet, and holds a spear in her left hand and a laurel branch in her right hand. She offers the laurel branch to a figure representing Architecture, wearing a headpiece in the shape of a Greek temple.
