Each of the figures faces outward. The infantryman wears a uniform, kepi cap and has a backpack and bedroll. He has a holster with a revolver and wears boots with spurs. The sailor stands with his proper left arm held up, hand cupped as if looking into the distance. He wears a sailor's uniform and a cap. The artilleryman stands with a revolver in his proper right hand and a ramrod in his proper left hand. The butt of the ramrod is on the ground. He wears a uniform and a kepi.
