    Description: 
    Standing figure of a fireman holding a baby marks a gravesite for firefighters. The fireman wears a late nineteenth century uniform consisting of hat and long coat. He holds the baby, attired in a long gown, in his proper left arm and a lantern handle in his proper right hand. The figure stands on a tall base which has three tiers on bottom and a decorative leaf motif at top.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the St. Paul Board of Fire Commissioners in memory of the fireman buried at this site. The Cemetery received the sculpture in 1901. An identical sculpture stands in the Calvary Cemetery, also in St. Paul. IAS files include an excerpt from the book "Monumental Minnesota."
