Bjornson Medallion on Stele, (sculpture). Artist:  Asbjornsen, Sigvald, 1867-1954, sculptor. American Bronze Company, founder. (possibly by) Title:  Bjornson Medallion on Stele, (sculpture). Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. 130 x 27 x 21 in.; Base: approx. 10 x 48 x 40 in.; Diam. of medallion: 16 in. Inscription:  Sigvald Asbjornsen (Front sculpture:) BJORNSON (Back sculpture:) JA VIELSKER DETTE/LANDET/SOMDET STIGERFREM/FURET, VEIRBIDT OUER/VANDET/MED DETUSEN HJEM/OJ SOMFAE DRESKAMP/HAR HAEVET/DET AF NOD TIL SEIR,/OGSAA VI, NAAR DET/BLIR KRAEVET,/FORDETS FREDSLAAR/LER signed Description:  Circular medallion of profile of Bjornson located in the center of a stele. Below the medallion are cast metal oak leaf branches bearing acorns. Stele, which is rough in surface texture, sits on a rectalinear concrete slab base. Fjelde. At the time of the dedication, the University was called North Dakota Agricultural College. The text on the back of the stele are the words to the Norwegian National Anthem, written by Bjornstjerne Bjornson.
