Description:
Bust of Ibsen, resting on a scroll and several books. The base is a flat-top monolith shape, its four stone sides left uncut and jagged. Each side has a smooth "border" of cut stone. Entire sculpture sits on a 48 inch square, cement pad.

Remarks:
Article in The Dakota Scientist, May 20, 1932, pg. 3. states that this was "formerly presented to the City of Wahpeton at the Richland County fair in the fall previous to May 17, 1912, but later it was decided to dedicate it on the campus of the Science School." It was originally sited at the south entrance to the North Dakota State College of Science and later moved to the campus oval. IAS files contain related article from The Dakota Scientist (Wahpeton, ND), May 20, 1932, pg. 3. and some additional unidentified material which discusses the dedication ceremony.
