Dimensions:  Approx. 28 x 19 x 19 ft. Description:  The sculpture is composed of three twenty-eight foot tall concrete panels, which lean toward a center gnomon, and are fastened where their inner corners meet the gnomon. Iron straps on the top and inner side edges of the concrete panels are made from 1 in. x 6 in. mild steel channels. Created in collaboration with scholars at the Morehead Planetarium, the sculpture tells time and indicates the summer and winter solstices. The sculpture has been incorporated into lectures and projects in math, physics, and art classes at the School of Math and Science. References:  SOS Assessment Award, 1999.
