Inscription:  (Plaques on the base contain the names of local war dead, including those from 10th New York Cavalry, 8th New York Heavy Artillery, and 151st New York Infantry) unsigned Description:  Full-length figure of a uniformed Civil War soldier stands atop an obelisk and short base. The figure's hands are extended in front, holding a musket with fixed bayonet. The gun butt rests on the ground. When the names became difficult to read due to surface loss, concerned local citizens funded the casting and installation of metal plaques with the same inscriptions.
