Description:
Full-length bronze figure of Richard J. Hughes. He wears a suit; judicial robes are draped over his proper left arm. His proper right hand is extended as in a handshake. The sculpture stands on a low, polished granite base.

Remarks:
Hughes was two-times governor of New Jersey and served as Chief Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. The sculpture was commissioned by the New Jersey State Bar Association and was funded through private contributions.
