    Description: 
    A monolith with quarry marks visible on two sides, carvings on the other two faces. The carvings allude to Montpelier's festival and civic natures. The tents and banners are the logo for the city's Midsummer Celebration. A statehouse dome with statue of Ceres represents municipal buildings in Montpelier.

    Remarks: 
    The sculptor regards the work as incomplete. The lettering on the piece was to have been finished on site during the dedication ceremony, but rain interfered. The work was to be moved to a new permanent location along the Winooski Bikepath, but as of 9/93, had not yet been moved.
