Marble sculpture featuring St. Therese of Lisieux, the Virgin Mary with young Jesus, and a large cross. The cross is in the center back of the sculpture and is draped with a cloth. Mary is seated at the proper left side of the cross. She wears robes, a head covering and a crown. Jesus is depicted as a toddler and is seated on Mary's proper left knee. Mary and Jesus each hold a corner of a cloth which is filled with roses. St. Therese sits below Mary on the proper right side of the cross. She holds a rose blossom in each hand. She wears long robes and a wimple. A rosary hangs from her waist. The ground below her is scattered with roses. The sculpture stands in the center of a large circular base. The base has a concrete core and is faced with rough stone blocks. It is topped with smooth granite slabs.

Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites, 275 Pleasant Street, Concord, New Hampshire 03301

The sculpture is a copy of a sculpture at the Carmelite monastery in Lisieux, France. Boni designed the base. Two copies were commissioned by the Monastery; the first copy was deemed unsatisfactory and was sold. The second copy was installed in 1961 and dedicated to the Reverend Mother Aloysius, founder of the Concord monastery. The sculpture was cleaned in November, 1992.
