    Description: 
    Steelworker dressed in composite working clothing common to steelworkers, pulling a hot wire strand with metal tongs. He is wearing safety hat and goggles. Two tones of patina are used. The concrete octagonal base on which he stands incorporates actual steel products from the nearby steelmill. This base is a part of a bubbling fountain.

    Remarks: 
    The statue is dedicated to men and women who labored at a nearby steel mill commonly known as the " C.F.& I.". The statue, which cost about $22,000, was erected as part of the redevelopment of the Northern Avenue corridor near Minnequa Park (formerly Bessemer Park). Image in IAS files shows full text on base plaques.
