    Remarks:
IAS files contain photocopies of Foster's Daily Democrat, Sept. 3, 1986; Yankee Magazine (Dublin, NH) Dec. 1966, vol. 30, pg. 48; and excerpts from Raymond H. Hose's "The Biography of A Plain Preacher," Boston: Meader Publ. Co., 1949. Shaw was a carpenter and directed the building of Milton Mills Methodist Church, 1871-1872. Sculpture was gilded at some point; exactly when is not known. A large crack in the back of the hand was repaired in 1936 by George Marsh, carpenter and blacksmith of Acton, Maine. He fitted an iron band around the hand in a channel cut across the fist and knuckles.
