    Description: 
    Exedra consists of a central figurative grouping in relief flanked by an honor roll and two additional plain stone wings. The exedra's seating is in the front. A low granite commemorative wall stands in front of the exedra and behind two cenotaphs inscribed with the war fatalities of Midland County. The figurative grouping consists of six soldiers in various types of uniforms and a winged allegorical female figure. The soldiers stand in groups of three on each side of the Classically garbed female. Their hands all join in the center to support a lamp. An eternal flame burns above the female figure's head.

    Remarks: 
    When originally erected, the memorial consisted of the relief, exedra and honor rolls. A low wall in the front commemorating the Korean and Vietnam Wars, with its two cenotaphs, was a later addition, as was the eternal flame and the two plaques on top of the honor roll walls. IAS files contain a related article from the Midland Daily News, July 4, 1992.
