Formerly in the collection of Palmer, Teresa Bailey, until ca. 1970s.
Remarks:
Teresa Leigh Read was born April 2, 1839 and died May 31, 1854 at age fifteen. She was the daughter of General Leigh Read and Eliza Branch Read, daughter of Governor John Branch, Florida's last territorial governor. The artist spent the winter at Pine Hill Plantation (in Leon County, Florida) painting portraits of the family of Governor Branch, the Reads, the Hopkins, and the Bradfords.
