    Remarks:
The sculpture was part of the market house located on the site from 1876 until 1954, when the building was razed to build a hotel. At the time, the sculpture was removed to a farm in Harrison Township, Ohio. The sculpture was installed near its current site in the early 1980s, but in 1983 vandals broke its horns and ears. Caso Impex of Detroit restored the damaged parts in the spring of 1995 and the sculpture was reinstalled on a new base at its present location near the center of the park. IAS files contain a related article from the Dayton Daily News, March 11, 1983, discussing the vandalism. IAS image files also contain a photograph of the sculpture taken by the SOS! surveyor before its reinstallation.
