    Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau for the entrance to Covington's MainStrasse Village. The goose girl image for the fountain was conceived by the MainStrasse Village Committee. The fairy tale, "The Goose Girl," by the Brothers Grimm was chosen as a fitting symbol to represent the early German settlers in the Covington area who raised geese. The artist's daughter, fifteen year old Anitsa Karkadoulias, was the model for the figure. Children have been seen swimming and wading in the fountain pool.
