Description:
Full-length figure of a uniformed, bearded Union soldier stands atop a three-course shaft, pedestal and tiered base. He wears a cap and long caped coat draped around his shoulders. He holds his rifle in front of him with both hands around the barrel and the butt near his proper left foot. Bands with raised-lettered names of battles separate the courses of the shaft. A smaller, rough-hewn obelisk stands with the same fenced area. This is reportedly a tribute to General Hammond's horse, Pink.
