On the front of the monument is a relief of a horse's head in harness, above crossed swords with a horseshoe in the center. Below the relief is a commemorative inscription. Each of the sides of the monument is inscribed. Portions of the granite of the front of the monument are polished, and the entire back of it is rough-hewn and unfinished.
