    Description: 
    Abstract sculpture consists of two vertical forms of different heights with a common base. The forms are joined in the middle by a round medallion which bears the inscription. The shape of the sculpture is meant to recall the Keystone Canyon and surrounding mountains of Valdez, through which the Alaska-Canada Highway runs.

    Title supplied by Inventory cataloger.
    Commissioned by the City of Valdez to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Alaska-Canada Highway (Alcan). A time capsule is buried under the sculpture, to be opened at the 100th anniversary. The capsule was designed and constructed by Mike Buch's high school metals class. The SOS! survey form and plaque differ on the dedication date.
