    Description: 
    A figure of a Civil War soldier stands with his proper left foot forward, the toe extending over the edge of a multi-tiered base. The rifle's butt is at a right angle to the direction of the figure's feet. The figure's hands are on the barrel of the rifle, proper left over proper right. The figure wears a long overcoat with the cape falling to the forearms. A bayonet is at the figure's proper left hip. A kit is suspended from the belt at the figure's back. He wears a moustache and brimmed cap. His face is turned towards the field on which he fell. A band of five raised polished stars decorates the base, which rests on a small mound, surrounded by a granite curb.

    Remarks: 
    The memorial was erected in honor of the soldiers from Suffield who died serving their county during the Civil War. The monument cost $2,700.
