    Remarks:
Original sculpture was a gift of the Tuesday Club at a cost of over $300. It was installed the week of Nov. 15, 1912. By 1973, it had suffered damage, including a broken leg. A bronze replacement, recast by the Kennedy Galleries, was made. The recasting was done ca. 1973 with funds raised by the Buena Vista County Historical Society for the Storm Lake Centennial Committee. The original statue is reportedly located indoors, in the Buena Vista Historical Museum. IAS files include excerpts from "Storm Lake Iowa Centennial 1873-1973 Official History and Program."
