    Description: 
    A circular abstract spiral of triangular textured metal. The two sides of the steel band are painted white and light gray, respectively. According to the artist, the work is an illustration of South Dakota, symbolizing the sea of the prairies.

    IAS files contain an undated article, "Sea Dream," from Art Now magazine and an article from the Argus Leader (Sioux Falls, SD), June 28, 1981, both discussing the artist and the piece. This piece was formerly located at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, north of Mickelson Library and is now located on the southwest corner of 10th Street and 2nd Avenue in Sioux Falls, SD. The work is popularly known as The Golf Ball or Orange Peel, because of its texture.
