    Description: 
    A fountain consisting of a tall shaft topped by a circular basin with four equidistant water spouts inserted around the rim of the basin. The shaft is mounted on an octagonal base in the center of an octagonal basin that was once used as a watering trough for dogs and horses. The corners of the basin are adorned with short pillars.

    Remarks: 
    The fountain was erected by the City of Savannah and was funded through a $1,500 bequest from Percival R. Cohen. Mr. Cohen's will specified that the bequest be used to build a fountain for animals, including horses, dogs, and birds. IAS files contain articles from the Savannah Evening Press, Oct. 11, 1933 and Sept. 11, 1934.
