Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 10 ft.; Base: approx. H. 15 ft. Description:  Full-length figure of a Union soldier. He is dressed in uniform and wears a cap. He holds a flagpole and flag against the proper right side of his body. The granite sculpture stands on a tall granite base. The base is crenellated near the top. The main shaft of the base is constructed of rough-hewn stone blocks. A bas-relief stone eagle ornaments the front of the base.
