    Description: 
    A Civil War soldier stands with his weight on his proper right leg and his proper left leg forward. He is holding his gun in front of himself, butt end resting on the ground, gripping the barrel with his proper left hand above proper right hand. The soldier has a moustache, and is dressed in a small cap and a knee-length coat that opens to expose his proper left leg. The sculpture is mounted on a tall base adorned with a relief depicting a an eagle perched on two crossed canons above a vertical U. S. flag with a star below it.
