    Description: 
    An octagonal gray column which was formerly a fountain. It has four basins attached to alternate sides. The two smallest basins are near the bottom on opposite sides, and once held water for dogs. The other basins are at mid-height on the column. The larger of these formerly held water for horses, while the smaller was for people. The former horse basin is now a flower planter.

    Remarks: 
    The fountain is a memorial to Henry N. Burgie, who died in 1886 at the age of 19. The fountain was a gift of his mother Annie N. Burgie and was cast by her husband's firm Collins and Burgie Company in Chicago. A plaque was installed in 1978 by Leon S. Newlove, Harold Hoagland, Francis L. Sentman, C. Brokaw Sentman and Virginia N. Davis, grandnephews and grandniece of Annie N. Burgie. IAS files contain a related article from The New Castle Gazette (New Castle, DE), March 29, 1978, pg. 1.
