    Description: 
    Full figure male, holding a hat at his side in his proper right hand. Draped over his proper left arm is part of a cape which goes across his back and over his proper left shoulder. This hand grasps the barrel of a rifle which touches the "ground" with the butt end. His head is turned to the proper right, and his proper left leg steps forward. A circular bronze relief of de Mores's wife Medora is placed at the top center of the base. Above her head is her name; below are leaves and flowers.

    Remarks: 
    SOS surveyor states that originally the sculpture faced east. It was, at some point, turned to face the west. Commissioned by the Marquis' son to honor his father, who established a frontier business conglomerate in the town of Medora.
