ERECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF/MANVILLE/IN HONOR OF/THE SOLDIERS AND SAILORS/WHO SERVED THEIR COUNTRY/IN THE WORLD WAR/1914-1918 (names of 228 village veterans are carved into the base)

Granite column topped with large granite ball and, at bottom of column, bronze military insignia relief (including anchor and flags) and originally 4 iron cannon balls (the cannon balls now missing).
