Description:
An installation of over 150 concrete sculptures depicting Biblical and political themes, including the Garden of Eden, the fall of man, and modern civilization (ca. 1910-1920). Biblical themes include depictions of Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve, the Devil, Angel guarding apples in the Garden of Eden, storks, and the Tree of Life. Political themes include the Goddess of Liberty crushing trust monopolies (represented by an octopus) Labor crucified, the American flag, and images related to the populist movement, including Social Darwinism, suffragism, and prohibition. One scene includes a soldier shooting a gun at an Indian, who in turns aims an arrow at a dog after a fox chasing a bird, trying to catch a worm eating a leaf. The sculptures are placed throughout the half-acre site, many attached within tree branches and lit with electric lights at night.

Remarks:
The sculptures were built by Samuel Perry Dinsmore, a retired farmer, populist politician and self-taught Biblical scholar. At the age of 64, he set out to build the "most unique" house in Lucas. In addition to the sculpture, the site includes his limestone log cabin, which he opened to tourists, and a mausoleum, where he is buried. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
