    Description: 
    A 40 foot high 4-sided granite column topped with a granite Civil War soldier. He is dressed in uniform, with half-length overcoat over a full field coat, and he wears a hat. He holds an American flag on a pole with his proper left hand. His proper right arm crosses in front of his body to hold the flagpole. A soldier and a sailor (possibly of copper sheeting) stand at the base of the memorial.

    Remarks: 
    The memorial was erected by the County Commissioners, under an Act of Assembly. At time of SOS! survey in 1995, the solider and sailor figures had been removed for restoration.
