    Remarks: 
    The fountain is a memorial to the beginnings of water skiing and to Ralph Samuelson, the father of water skiing. The fountain was funded in part by money left over from the 1972 Lake City Centennial celebration and partially by a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Regional Arts Council.
