Description:
Monument in the shape of an irregular quadrilateral step-pyramid of 21 tiers of varying size. At the top is a sphere upon which a concrete bald eagle is perched with wings outspread. Also rising from the sphere is a flagpole. The tiers of the monument are decorated with more than 1,500 stones from 48 states and 21 foreign countries. The concrete monument is reinforced with steel and sits on a concrete base.

Remarks:
The monument was constructed by the Kissimmee All-States Tourist Club, aided by Kissimmee Lions Club members. Lancaster designed the monument; Bressler-Pettit and Fischer cast the eagle. The foundation was poured on Dec. 21, 1941, the cornerstone laid Jan. 11, 1942 and construction was completed March 19, 1943. The city provided the site for the monument and much of the labor. Many of the stones on the edifice of the monument were sent by dignitaries, including state governors, the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Canada. IAS files contain transcription, donor and placement information for the individual stones on the monument. IAS files contain copy of related brochure "Souvenir-World's Most Unique Monument, Kissimmee, Florida".
