Description:
First World War soldier in uniform stands at parade rest amidst the wreckage of a cannon. He wears a helmet and grasps the barrel of his rifle with both hands. The butt of the gun rests on the ground. He stands atop a multitiered base. On a ledge of the base stands an eagle with its wings spread. Behind it is a flag on a flagpole lying horizontally. On a lower tier stands a woman in a gown.
