    Remarks: 
    Sculpture was erected to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876 in which General Custer (1839-1876) and his whole regiment were killed. The site was once known as Custer Battlefield Highway, which connected Omaha with Glacier National Park. IAS files include the text of the plaque on the base which details key points in Custer's military career.
