An eagle with wings spread. The body is arched, with the head extended out in front and lower than the body. The sculpture sits on a stone column.

Remarks:
The sculpture is a replacement casting of an earlier bronze sculpture which toppled from its base in 1976 and broke. The original (artist unknown) was executed ca. 1900 and installed in 1905 by J. Kennedy Tod whose estate encompassed the land the park now is situated on. $10,000 was provided for the replacement sculpture by Mrs. Allan F. Kitchell. The sculpture is located on an island within a lake in the park. IAS files contain related articles from Greenwich Times, April 1979; and photocopies of related correspondence of Mrs. Kitchell and Mr. Knowles.
