Description:
Full-length classical female figure. She wears a flowing robe and holds a vessel against her proper right hip. The concrete sculpture stands in the center of a concrete fountain basin.

Remarks:
The sculpture was commissioned by developer James D. Newton. It was modeled after a similar sculpture in Chestnut Hill, PA. The sculpture was dedicated to the city in honor of Thomas A. Edison, a resident of Ft. Myers at the time. The sculpture was restored in 1983 by Donald Joseph Wilkins (Ft. Myers, FL), who also designed and installed special lighting around the sculpture. IAS files contain copy of related article from Lee Living Magazine, July/August 1991.
