Inscription:  (Along back of railroad tie:) (copyright symbol) Bob Scriver - 1993/NAWA NSS CA (Plaque on base, raised:) SHEP/"Forever Faithful"/Sculptor/Bob Scriver/Dedicated June 26, 1994 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  A dog, Shep, stands with his front legs on a rail, his hind legs on gravel between two railroad ties, and his tail curled upwards. The sculpture is set atop a boulder with an inscribed plaque, set in the center of a plaza. His dog, Shep, persistently waited at the tracks for his master's return until his own death on January 12, 1942. Shep was buried atop a bluff above the depot and his funeral was attended by hundreds. IAS files contain a transcription of a nearby plaque describing Shep's vigil.
