    Remarks:
In August, 1936, a sheepherder's body was sent East on a train for burial. His dog, Shep, persistently waited at the tracks for his master's return until his own death on January 12, 1942. Shep was buried atop a bluff above the depot and his funeral was attended by hundreds. IAS files contain a transcription of a nearby plaque describing Shep's vigil.
