Sculpture: approx. 7 x 12 x 1 1/2 ft.

This sculpture is located in the "Mule Capital of the World," and is based on that theme. The sculpture is divided into three relief panels, cast in white portland and marble chips. The right panel represents leaves and branches of the earth in abstract columns of horizontal and diagonal lines. The center panel depicts a mule and a sun. The left panel depicts a mule in concave form with an architectural element symbolizing the excavation of phosphate from the earth. The three panels are set into a freestanding brick wall. On either side of the wall are concrete benches which were also cast by the artist as part of the sculpture's total environment.
