Washington, (sculpture). Artist:  Unknown (Italy), fabricator. Title:  Washington, (sculpture). Dates:  Installed 1932. Dedicated Sept. 5, 1932. Medium:  Sculpture: marble (?); Base: granite (?). Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 80 in. x Diam. 70 in.; Base: approx. 86 x 54 x 54 in. (2 tons). Inscription:  (On front of base, incised lettering:) WASHINGTON/ERECTED BY ORDER/SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA/CHAPTER 974 CLYDE, N.Y./A.D. 1932 (On small plaque at bottom: ...transcription illegible) Description:  George Washington stands with proper left leg forward. He wears a tricorn hat and a military uniform. The uniform consists of a full-length cape worn over a short jacket, waistcoat, and knee-high boots. He grasps the edge of the cape with his proper right hand near his thigh. With his proper left hand he holds the handle of a sword which is sheathed at his proper left hip. The sculpture is mounted atop a tall base enclosed by a circular fence.
